Free self-serve tools for Turkish residence bureaucracy
Four tools that answer the questions foreigners ask us most often - whether a district is open to you, what the permit will cost, which documents your case needs, and which school paths fit a relocating family. They run on the same data we use for client applications, are checked against official sources, and each one shows the date it was last verified. No signup required.
How We Keep Tools and Guides Updated
Closed District Checker
Parts of Türkiye are closed to new residence registrations by foreigners, and the list changes with little announcement. This checker compares every province and district against the current Göç İdaresi closure lists, including the neighborhood-level closures that catch people out after they have already signed a lease.
Use it to answer
- Is this district open for a first-time short-term permit?
- Which neighborhoods are affected in a partially closed district?
- Which nearby districts are still open?
Residence Permit Cost Calculator
Residence permit costs depend on your nationality, the permit length, and several fees that are easy to miss - the card fee, the residence fee, single-entry visa fees, notary and insurance costs. The calculator applies the official fee schedule to your situation and converts it at the live TCMB exchange rate.
Use it to answer
- What the government fees add up to for your nationality
- Which side costs - notary, insurance - to budget for
- The total in both lira and dollars at today's rate
Document Checklist Generator
Document requirements differ by permit type and living situation, and outdated lists are one of the most common reasons applications get flagged at the appointment. Answer a few questions about your case and get the list that applies to you, sent to your inbox so you can work through it.
Use it to answer
- Exactly which documents your permit type requires
- Which format details matter - wet signatures, notarization, apostilles
- What to prepare before your immigration appointment
School Path Finder
Families moving to Türkiye with school-age children face a stack of choices: state or private, Turkish or international curriculum, day school or boarding. This tool walks through a short set of questions and shows the paths that match, with plain notes on what each path usually requires.
Use it to answer
- Which school kinds fit your child's age and your plans
- Whether day school or boarding / student housing is on the table
- What papers and rules each matching path usually asks for
Put the closed-district map on your own website
If you run an agency, law firm, or relocation site, you can embed the district checker's map and closure list on your own pages. The snippet is plain HTML, and the data in it updates whenever ours does - no re-pasting.
