How we keep everything updated

This page last verified: 3 August 2026

Rules for foreigners in Türkiye change. Tools and guides only help if you can see when we last verified them, and against what. This page explains that process.

Mikato is not a government website. Official decisions sit with Göç İdaresi, e-ikamet, and the other authorities. We help you check and prepare.

District checker (closed areas)

The closed-neighborhood list comes from Göç İdaresi announcements. When we verify the whole tool again against that source, we update one shared verification date. Hub pages, province pages, and the map all use that same date.

Current tool verification date: 3 August 2026. Official source: Göç İdaresi closed-neighborhood announcement.

Istanbul whole-district first-application closures are documented on separate Göç pages (not only the national mahalle list): Istanbul residence-permit applications · Göç statement on district closure claims.

  • We compare the tool against the published Göç list and known whole-district closures (for example fully closed Istanbul districts).
  • Map shapes show place names and boundaries. Open or closed status comes from the closure data.
  • If Göç publishes a new announcement URL, we update the linked source and the date.

Residence permit cost calculator

Government fee lines follow official schedules on goc.gov.tr and Resmi Gazete tebliğs. The calculator uses rates marked effective from 1 January 2026. USD/TRY uses the TCMB daily rate when available. If that feed is down, we show a fallback rate and mark it.

We last verified government fee amounts on 3 August 2026 (schedule effective from 1 January 2026). Göç fee page and Resmi Gazete tebliğs.

  • Harç and card fees by nationality tier come from official fee materials.
  • Visa fees come from the official visa fee page when they apply to the path.
  • Notary figures come from the published Noterlik ücret tarifesi and are shown as an estimate range.
  • Insurance and translation figures are market estimates and labeled that way in the result.

Guides

Each guide shows a published or updated date. We revise a guide when a rule, fee, or process step we describe has changed. Prefer tools for a live district or cost check. Prefer guides when you want the full story.

Document checklist

The checklist is a starting list for common paths. Officers can still ask for extra papers. We update the questions and document set when official lists or common practice change what most people need.

We last verified checklist content against official sources on 3 August 2026. Some items reflect common office practice, not only the national e-ikamet list.

How to use verification dates

  • A verification date shows when we last verified the tool against the source. Rules and lists can still change after that day.
  • Student, work, and family paths can follow different rules from short-term tourist paths. The tools note those differences where we have them.
  • Confirm your exact address and fees before you sign a lease or pay.

If something looks wrong

Email hello@mikato.co or message us on WhatsApp with the page URL and what you expected. We fix real errors. When the underlying data changes, we update the verification date.
